Due to its proximity with the Alumine Town, Casa de Campo Lodge offers a wide range of outdoor activities for you to enjoy. Below you will find a small sampling of what can be arranged.
Fly fishing is the main activity, however, we can easily organize horseback rides, hikes through monkey puzzle forest, tours and golfing.

Guided tour of the Monkey Puzzle tree District – Gentle forest hike – Lunch in Villa Pehuenia overlooking Lake Alumine

Enjoy a full day guided tour discovering the Pehuenia district known for its indigenous Monkey Puzzle Tree forest. You will learn about these ancient trees and why they are held sacred by the native culture. Also, you will learn why the trees seeds are such an important component of the Mapuche tribe’s nutrition. A gentle hike among some of the oldest individual tree will give you an appreciation for their age and beauty.
The tour will conclude with a delicious lunch at the Villa Pehuenia Restaurant overlooking at Lake Alumine.

Hike to Laguna Verde at the Rocachoroi Mapuche Indian Reservations – Visit local weavers

Enjoy a scenic hike along the north shore of Lake Rocachoroi through the monkey puzzle, ñires and lengas forests to the pristine Verde Lagoon. After two and half hours of hiking, and gaining 1,100 feet in elevation, you will reach the mountain ridge at 4,800 feet above sea level. After enjoying the pristine view you will return to the lake for an Argentine asado and the best Argentine wines.

Guided whitewater rafting on Upper Alumine River

The Upper Alumine River is a famous whitewater rafting and kayak destination. The waters below the town of Alumine are ideal for enjoying gentle rapids while you get a taste of adventure and adrenaline. A lunch of “chicken on the disco” will be prepared over the open fire. It will be served riverside and accompanied with great Argentine wine.

Archeological tour of local petroglyphs and excavation sites

This morning you will be accompanied by a local archeologist for your visit to the unique basalt rocks formations at Rincon de la Escopeta. You will view the ancient petroglyphs while your guide discusses the influence of the Spanish colonization and its impact on the native culture.

Cooking class with local chef – Learn about Traditional Argentine recipes

Learn traditional Argentine recipes while preparing a delicious lunch at the lodge. A recipe book will be included so that you can recreate your empanadas when you return home!

Horseback ride at Quillen Ranch – Afternoon Argentina asado

Take a 3 hour morning horseback ride in the Quillen River Valley. You will enjoy spectacular views of the Andes Mountains as you ride through the forest and gradually ascend above tree line. Lunch will be a traditional Argentine asado cooked outdoors and accompanied with fine Argentine wine.
